I am a London based Web Developer and Computer Science student.
At the age of 14 I built my first website using Macromedia Dreamweaver (now an Adobe product) often building websites for gaming clans and for a charity called the Shooting Star Trust.
At college and university, I studied humanities and the social sciences, graduating with a 2:1 Honours degree in History from the University of Reading.
I enjoyed History but found it didn’t lead directly into any vocation or profession, so I fell into a career path that wasn’t ideal for me.
After finishing University I briefly worked in finance as a Credit Controller but always had a nagging feeling that I should be working with technology.
I moved over to initially studying for IT Support and Infrastructure qualifications (such as the Comptia A+ and Cisco CCNA), working for a few years as an IT Engineer, before making the plunge into the world of programming and development.
I spent a number of years self-teaching web and application development while working in IT and finally left my job, eventually pursuing a career as a Frontend Developer at men’s fashion brand – Lyle & Scott.
After finishing my contract at Lyle & Scott I felt prepared to freelance and work as a self-employed developer. I developed a stronger interest in programming and Computer Science and so recently began formal studies in the subject at Birkbeck‘s Computing department.
I intend to chart my progress and learnings in Computing through writing and publishing articles on my blog and on other platforms such as Medium, where I already have a published article on the topic of Object Oriented Programming.
Feel free to reach out to me if you are interested in learning more about my work and may want to work with me.
